Mr. Killian was born February 23, 1930 in Swansboro to the late Jacob William and Zelda Morton Killian. He served his country in the US Army and then the US Coast Guard and retired as an E-6 in the 70's before beginning a career and retiring with the Ferry Division of the State of North Carolina.
Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Linda Love Killian; daughter, Mary Anne Killian Saxton; son, James Freeman Killian, Jr of Winston-Salem; granddaughter, Megan Ketner of NY; and great grandson Arthur Kerin of NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
