James Kupczak, a devoted husband, beloved father, and proud lifelong Floridian, passed away
on May 10, 2025, at the age of 69 in his home.
Born in North Miami, Florida on January 13, 1956. James lived his entire life in the state he
loved. He graduated from Miramar High School in 1974 and built a life rooted in family, tradition,
and the great outdoors.
On May 2, 1981, James married the love of his life, Alicia Liz, in Miami. Their wedding was full
of joy, laughter, and celebration - a day that friends and family still fondly remember.
Together, they recently celebrated 44 years of marriage, a testament to their enduring love and
partnership.
He is survived by Alicia Liz and their children: James Kupczak and his wife Nicole, Timothy
Kupczak and his wife Gaby, and his third son, John Robinson, whom he helped raise and loved
as his own, along with John's wife, Angie. James was a deeply devoted father and grandfather,
always putting his family first and cherishing the time spent with those he held dear.
He leaves behind four cherished grandchildren - Alexander, Cillian, Noah, and Thiago - who
brought light and joy to his life. He is also survived by his siblings: Tommy, Judy, Nancy, Chrissy
and Susie. He was predeceased by his parents, Ben and Barbara Kupczak.
To those who knew him, James was a man of few words and many actions. He led with quiet
strength, unshakable loyalty, and a deep sense of responsibility to his loved ones.
James had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing along Florida's coasts, hiking in the
mountains, and camping under the stars. He loved to cook, often with a cold beer in hand, and
found happiness in preparing meals that brought people together.
Seafood was one of his greatest pleasures, and he had a particular love for crawfish. Attending
crawfish festivals was a favorite tradition - he reveled in the flavor, the fun, and the company.
He was happiest by the water, enjoying a good seafood meal with a beachside view.
Holidays were truly special in James's home. He went out of his way to make them magical for
his family - from fireworks lighting up the sky on the Fourth of July, to spooky music and
costumes on Halloween, where he was known for handing out candy in frightening masks that
delighted neighborhood kids.
James's legacy is one of love, dedication, and deep, quiet joy in life's meaningful moments. He
will be missed more than words can express and remembered with love by all who had the
honor of knowing him.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 17th, beginning at 4:00 p.m., followed by a memorial
service at 5:00 p.m. at Lakeland Funeral Home, located at 2125 Bartow Road,
Lakeland, FL33801. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of James Kupczak. If
