James (Jimmy)Norris Larpenter, born June 21st 1936 in Napoleonville Louisiana to Gilbert Joseph Larpenter and Helen Vining Larpenter went to his reward in heaven on October 22nd 2022 at his home in Robert Louisiana. He was 86 years of age.
He leaves behind his spouse of 66 years, Juliette Gomilla Larpenter to cherish his memories. Three children, Danny Larpenter and spouse Pam of Holden La., Sharon Hartman and spouse Pat of Brownsburg In, Rodney Larpenter and spouse Kelly of Killian La. Seven Grandchildren; Dana Clark, Brianne Clark, Allison Larpenter, Jamie Larpenter, Leah Larpenter, Andrew Larpenter and Matthew Larpenter. Six Great Grandchildren; Phoenix, Nathaniel, Logan, Danica, Layne and Hunter. Two sisters, Eleanor Wurst and Sue Campbell.
He was predeceased by his parents Gilbert and Helen Larpenter and siblings Alvin, Emery, Richard, Gilbert, Merle, Jerry, Jean and Mary Ruth. He spent many years working in Avondale and Equitable shipyards. In his later years he was self employed as a handyman jack of all trades. He never met a stranger and could probably find out who your Grandpa was in just a few minutes. If he didn't we were disappointed. James was a member of the Bible Holiness Church in Ponchatoula where he at times served on the board and taught Sunday school class. For many years James and Juliette hosted a large family gathering on Thanksgiving with as many as 130 family and friends in attendance. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the fine employees of Modern Health and Modern Hospice for the professionalism and kindness shown during the past several months.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service 12:00 p.m. at the Bible Holiness Church Highway 22 East Ponchatoula La, October 29, 2022 with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the service time. Internment at Parkland Memorial Gardens, Hammond La.
