James McAtee, 67, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Delmar Gardens of O’Fallon in O’Fallon, MO.
He was born September 9, 1958, to Edmond and Kay (nee Kastner) McAtee, Jr.
James will be remembered as a man who lived life with joy and curiosity. He had a passion for golfing, spending countless hours on the course with friends and family. He loved to travel, always eager to see new places and experience the world around him. At home, James enjoyed the comfort of his extensive album collection, finding peace and happiness in listening to the music he cherished. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Kay McAtee, Jr.; brother, Mark D. McAtee.
James is survived by his sister, Peggy (Kent) McAtee Burroughs; nieces and nephews, Angela Burroughs, Ryan (Julie) Burroughs, Jason (Amy) Burroughs, Ian McAtee, Brennan McAtee; great-nieces and great-nephews; Haley, Jack, Riley, Demmi, JJ, Faith, Brinley, Hadley, Mallie, Olivia; aunts, Elizabeth Schaeffer, Leah McAtee; and many loving friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Visitation: Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.
