On Saturday, April 12, 2025, James (Jim) T, McGill, age 87, left this life while watching the Masters with his friend, Bill. He was born on June 9, 1937 to the late Richard and Elva McGill. He is survived by his wife of 62+ years, Susan (Sue) Snyder McGill and his son, Gregory John McGill.
Jim graduated from Miami University in 1963 and earned his MBA degree from Baldwin Wallace College in 1982. He was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. He was past President of the North Royalton Lions Club. Member of North Royalton Methodist Church. James served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.
Jim owned three UPS Stores: Karric Square, Reed and Henderson and Bethel Road. In retirement Jim enjoyed golf and traveling. He loved spending time in Westfield, NY at the cottage on Lake Erie with his family. He was proud of his Swedish heritage. He was instrumental in the conveyance of property to the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy.
Jim was very supportive of his son's artistic activities, notably assisting with financial support of MadLab Theatre in their efforts to secure a new building in 2009. Recently, Jim was active in ForeHope, a program for individuals who are neurologically impaired.
The family has decided to not have a formal service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be donated to the following: Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora, 23 Paine St, East Aurora, NY. 14052; OhioHealth ForeHope, 550 Thomas Lane, Columbus, OH 43214; Inniswood Garden Society, 940 Hempstead Rd, Westerville, OH. 43081.
