James P. Mello, 26, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 21, 2022. He was the beloved son of Troy W. Mello and the late Jennifer A. (Cohen) Mello. James had resided in Seekonk and Narragansett all of his life.
He was a varsity football player at LaSalle Academy. James was a 2021 graduate of URI receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, and held various leadership positions in the PI Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was a member of the Rhode Island Academy of Nutrition and Dietitians. James lived his life by the words of LaSalle Academy "Live to Serve". He was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan.
Besides his father, he leaves his siblings, Jaquelyn M. Mello, Tyler J. Mello and his wife, Alexis M., and Jillian A. Mello; paternal grandmother, Maria C. Mello; maternal grandparents, Harvey Cohen and Marsha H. Osbaldeston; uncles, Gregory J. Mello, Edward Cohen and many friends. He was the paternal grandson of the late Joseph P. Mello.
Visitation will be held at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket on Wednesday 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and continue on Thursday 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. followed by a Graveside Service at Seekonk Cemetery, Newman Ave., Seekonk at 10:15 a.m. Flowers are welcome. TRIPPFUNERALHOME.com

To the family of James Mello,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I had James in Religion class at La Salle during his junior year and I remember him well. He was a great student and person and I am heart-broken. Please know I will be thinking of all of you and praying as well.
