James Peter Miller, age 78, of Milford, Michigan passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025.
Born on June 3, 1946, in Detroit, James was the son of William and Alice Miller. He attended Cody High School and graduated in 1964. Shortly after, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.
Following his honorable service, James met his future wife, Lise-Marie, at his cousin's wedding in 1968. James then began a lifelong career at Detroit Diesel, working there from 1969 until his retirement in 2006. James and Lise-Marie married in 1975 and built a beautiful life together, raising two beloved children.
Since he was a child, James' favorite past time was spending time up North at his lake lot on Saginaw Bay with family. He loved boating with antique outboards, which he collected and admired throughout his life. He also enjoyed working on classic cars and motorcycles and took pride in searching for rare parts to add to his collections with his son.
James will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and dedication to his family. He will be deeply missed and always remembered.
He was the beloved husband of Lise-Marie Miller, father of Jaime (Michel) Isaak and Gregory (Deborah) Miller, and grandfather to Sarah-Catherine, Elisabeth, James, Ranna, Jake, and Johanna.
James was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alice Miller, and his brother, Ronald Miller.
Funeral Mass to be held on Wednesday, April 30 at St. Mary Our Lady of the Snows in Milford at 11:00 AM. A visitation hour will begin at 10 AM for family and friends to share memories and pay their respects.
