James Hershel "Jimmy" Mixon Jr.

James "Jimmy" H. Mixon, Jr., 71, husband of Debbie Geddings Mixon, died Saturday, November 8, 2025, at his home.
Born June 21, 1954, in Sumter, he was a son of the late James Hershel Mixon, Sr. and the late Myrtle Rae Spigner Mixon. Mr. Mixon was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University. Mr. Mixon was as a financial advisor with Edward Jones until his retirement.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, he is survived by one daughter, Beth Florence (Erick).
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald "Ronnie" G. Mixon.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Charles Owens.
The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service and other times at the home.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the special caregivers, Adam Gartland with Visiting Angels of Sumter; and Adea Quailey, Betty Murray, Debbie Miles, and Dr. Jochen Granja with Prisma Health Tuomey Hospice for the exceptional care they provided.
