James D. " Jim " Moore 83 of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away February 4, 2025 at the Lawton-Ft. Sill Veterans Center in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Morgan officiating, interment will follow at 2:00 P.M.at the Alex Cemetery in Alex, Oklahoma, arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.
Jim was born June 7, 1941 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to George T. & Doffeene (Dutton) Moore he attended schools in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He and worked for Kock Oil Company and in the Maintance Department at Duncan Public Schools. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce. Jim married Mary Louise Wiggins August 18, 1965 in Murphyburg, Tennessee, and to this marriage were born 2 sons, Wesley and Brian.
Survivors include his wife; Louise of the home, sons; Wesley & Marci Moore of El Lago, Texas and Brian & Vanessa Moore of Duncan, Oklahoma, brothers; Jessie & Diane Moore of Missouri and Eskel & Rose Moore of Arkansas and a sister; Joyce Moore of Blanchard, Oklahoma, 3 grandchildren; Joshua & Megan of Marlow, Oklahoma, Tiffany& Torin of Duncan, Oklahoma and Winston & Shy-Ann of Comanche, Oklahoma and 6 great-grandchildren.
Jim had an infectious sense of humor and was a natural jokester. He found joy in fishing, woodworking, camping, and restoring vintage cars. His hands were rarely idle, and his heart was always full, his kindness, humor, and passion for life touched everyone who knew him. James Dale Moore will be deeply missed by all who loved him. His legacy lives on in laughter of his grandchildren, the stories shared around campfires, and the warmth of memories that will never fade.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Moore, Josh Moore, Winston Moore, Torin Wallace, Marty Hobbs, and Arron Hobbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad & Greg Moore, Billy & John Moore.
