James J. "Jim" Morin, 89, of Windsor Locks, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was the devoted husband of Joan (Glemboski) Morin. Born on December 5, 1935, in Hartford, CT, Jim was the son of the late Joseph and Julia (Quagliaroli) Morin.
Jim dedicated 33 years of his life to the Air National Guard, where he proudly served and rose to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. His commitment to service continued for an additional six years after his retirement, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to his country. Beyond his military service, Jim was a valued member of his community, volunteering with the Windsor Locks Fire Department from 1969 to 1979 and being an active member of American Legion Post 36 for 10 years.
A man of faith, Jim was a lifelong member of Mary Gate of Heaven Parish, where he found comfort and community. He had a love for family, which was reflected in his deep devotion to his wife Joan, their children, and especially his grandson. In his later years, Jim cherished the simple joys of life, often spending time playing Bingo and card games with friends at the Windsor Locks Senior Center. He also enjoyed competitive online gaming with his daughter Karen, a pastime that kept him connected with loved ones near and far.
Jim is survived by his wife, Joan; his son, Kevin Morin and his wife Betty of North Carolina; his daughter, Karen Liappes and her husband Michael of New Hampshire; his grandson, John Anderson of Tennessee; and his sister, Judy Klocker of Windsor Locks. He also leaves behind numerous extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 52 South Elm Street, Windsor Locks. Please meet at the church. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to the Windsor Locks Senior Center, 41 Oak Street, Windsor Locks, CT 06096 or Mary Gate of Heaven Parish, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT 06096.

Joan
I had the pleasure to serve with Jimmy in the Air Guard for a number of years, thirty to be exact, he was there when I enlisted and was still there when I retired. Great guy, will be missed and happy I got to see him at "old timers day" this past June. May he rest in peace. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers
