James William Murney, age 82, of Huron Township, Michigan passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Seacrest Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Monroe, Michigan.
Born on January 2, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of James and Myrtle (Borders) Murney. On June 26, 1965 he married Joann Gianfermi in Detroit.
He was employed with DTE as a meter reader for 15 years before taking a position at Page Toyota.
He enjoyed NASCAR racing and classic cars. He loved being around his grandchildren and spending time with them. He was a big sports fan as well.
James was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joann L. Murney, sisters, Emily Caudill and Dorothy Vance.
He is survived by his children, James E. (Stacie) Murney, Jackie (Gordon) LaLone, Shelly (Dan) Constante, grandchildren, Amber, Kyle, Jessica, Jennifer, Amanda, Nicole, Megan, great-grandchildren, Lexis, Kelsey, Chloe, Wesley Jr., Michael, Theo, Cooper, Arianna and Aiden.
Visitation will be held at Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Bobcean Funeral Home on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 3:30 pm. Father John Hedges will officiate the service. Burial will be in Huron Valley Cemetery, Flat Rock, Michigan.
