James Bernard "Jim" Nutter

James (Jim) Bernard Nutter, passed away March 4, 2025. He was born in South Bend, Indiana, September 10, 1939, the son of Benton Nutter and Margaret Pulaski.
Jim was a proud graduate of Notre Dame where he earned a bachelor's degree. He then earned a master's degree in graphic design from Michigan State. He was employed in the Lansing area as a designer at Grafek Arts, art director at the John Henry Company, and then owner of Capital Typography until retirement.
Jim married Gail Haske in 1965 and they moved in 1967 to 40 acres in Shaftsburg, Michigan. Jim was active in the community as a member of the Woodhull Township Planning Commission and the Perry School Board. He was an active member of St. Mary Church in Morrice and in the St. Vincent dePaul Society.
He loved family time; holidays, school and camping activities with the kids. He loved to plan the flower gardens.
He is survived by his wife Gail, children Matt (Jenn) Nutter and Kate Nutter; grandchildren Claire Nutter-German, Anna Nutter-German, Jonas Nutter, Fern Nutter, and August Nutter; sisters Patricia Kopinski, Barbara Kondor, and Margaret Berreth, Sisters-in-law Judy (Jim) Judd and Susan (Michael) Greiter, nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 10, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Morrice, Msgr George Michalek to preside. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery. The Nutter family will receive friends at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Perry Chapel on Sunday from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm with the Rosary being prayed at 7:30. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church.
Guests are invited to a funeral lunch following the burial service at the cemetery.
