Steven E. Wallace, 65, of Perry, Michigan passed away peacefully at home on August 19 after a lengthy and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born on November 23, 1959 to Lynda (Dafoe) and Raymond Wallace. He had a lengthy career at Michigan State University, retiring in 2021 after 42 years of service. He passionately served his community and made a lasting impact as a softball coach, city council member and mayor.

Steve valued family above all else and left his legacy by founding Wallace Weekend 42 years ago. He enjoyed spending time teaching his grandkids, treasuring his wife, researching family genealogy, fishing, golfing and recently building model cars.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife Deborah Wallace, children Anthony Devellis, Stephannie (Bernard) Greer, Bradly Deforest, Elizabeth (Justin) Boosinger and Curtis Holmes, his sisters Cheryl Coscarelli and Susan (Chuck) Brown, twelve adored grandchildren, nieces, nephews and so many favorite cousins. He was proceeded in death by his parents, and brother, Michael Wallace.

Steve will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his commitment to community service and his unbridled ability to tell it how it is. Steve will be missed by everyone who was touched by his strength and light, but by his family most of all.

Memorial service information to be announced.
