Mr. James Ralph Pilson, Jr., age 82 of Woolwine, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born June 27, 1943, to James Ralph Pilson Sr. and Carlene Hubbard Pilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Christy Pilson Stowe; a son, Joseph Edward Verran; and a brother, Lawrence Vinson Pilson.

His presence was a steady comfort, his wisdom was a guiding light, and his love a gift that shaped our lives in countless ways. He was a man of strength, humility, and deep kindness, whether through quiet gestures or steadfast support, he left a mark on everyone he met. His stories, his laughter, and the lessons he passed on will remain with us forever. Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the time we had. We carry his legacy forward in how we live, love, and support one another-just has he taught us.
