Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven
James Trinton Poole, 77, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024, at his residence in Hernando, MS. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m., all at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. He will be interred at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette, LA, with his wife Roberta Salazar Poole. Pastor Donald LeRoy will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of local arrangements.
Jim was born September 27, 1946, in Memphis, TN. Jim was such a people person, having never met a stranger. He worked as an appliance serviceman helping many during his lifetime. He was married to his wife, Roberta Salazar Poole for 34 years and resided in the Baton Rouge area. They enjoyed traveling, including cruises, eating out where they knew all the servers at their favorite restaurants, and enjoying country music. They attended many concerts watching their favorite artists George Strait and Reba McEntire. Jim also held a passion for cars, going to races, shows, and collecting model cars. But above all, family was most important to him as he came from a large family. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and extended family where he was known for his sense of humor.
Survivors include his two sons, Jason Poole of Hernando, MS, and Roderick Vincent, Jr. (Lisa) of Lake Charles, LA; three daughters, Jennifer Ferrell (Brian) of Southaven, Monica Vincent-Walker (Clint) of Livingston, LA and Kerry Duhon (Eric) of Maurice, LA; one sister Elaine Deal, four brothers Charles (Wendy), Billy (Judy), Stevie (Diana), and Robert Poole (Jina); one sister in law Antoinette Poole; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife Roberta Poole; parents Trinton and Elvie Cobb Poole; and his brothers Thomas Poole and Donald Poole.
Expressions of online condolences may be left on his Tribute Wall at www.colemanfuneralhome.com.
