Larry Dale Poole

Larry Dale (Papoo) Poole, 72 of Cross Plains, TN passed away at his home on Thursday August, 21st, 2025. He was born on September 11th, 1952 in Dyersburg, TN to George M. and Aline C. Poole. Visitation will be held on Monday 8/25/25 from 2pm-7pm and on Tuesday 8/26/25 from 11am-1pm with funeral to follow in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Thom Rawls and Jim Holzemer officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery with Michael Poole, Christopher Poole, William Poole, Dylan Goodwin, Daniel Goodwin and Dylan Pinkerton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer Joshua Alan Poole. Larry was employed for 38 years by the Metro Nashville Davidson County Fire Department, EMS Division. Over the years he held multiple positions, retiring as a Deputy Chief in 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Laura D. Poole. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Diane Goodwin Poole, daughter Katherine Michelle (Kay-tee) Poole of Goodlettsville, Tn, Sons Andrew (Andy) Kaleb Poole of Hohenwald, TN, Joshua (Josh) Lee (Sharon) Poole of Springfield, TN, and Sister Lynne D. Poole of Goodlettsville, TN. Six grandchildren, Corynne A. Meadows, Michael L. Poole, Christopher A. Poole, William K. Poole, Lyndia D. Poole, Joshua Alan G. Poole. Best friend and fur baby Charlie. He enjoyed several hobbies in his lifetime, including; Woodworking, Grilling and Cooking, Genealogy, Fine Cigars and Fine Whiskey, but most of all Aggravating the Grandkids.
