James Bobby Redmond

J.B. (Jabo) Redmond, age 93, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Black Oak Heights Baptist Church and was a veteran who proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the US Postal Service after more than 40 years of service. Jabo had a great sense of humor, loved anything sweet, and was always ready with a joke. He also had an inquisitive mind and never stopped learning. He was an avid leather craftsman and bowler and was even inducted into the Greater Knoxville Bowling Hall of Fame. Jabo was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Beulah Redmond and infant daughter, Sharon Kay. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cathy Redmond; and daughter, Becky Hammer; granddaughters, Sydney Flynn (Kent) and Samantha Knowles (Bryan; great-grandchildren, Lila and Kori Flynn, and Beckett, Lawson, and Lake Knowles. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Rose Funeral & Cremation - Broadway. On Monday, August 19, 2024, family and friends will gather at Lynnhurst Cemetery at 10:45 AM for an 11:00 AM graveside service officiated by Rev.
