James H. Reynard, 89, started his journey to Heaven on May 30th, 2022. He was born on Northern Avenue in Green Bay on February 13th, 1933 to Henry and Mina Reynard.
He graduated from West High School with the class of 1951. While attending West High he met and fell in love with a beautiful girl by the name of Marilyn Schafer.
Little did they know then that she would become his best friend and beloved wife for 65 years and the mother of their two children.
After Jim graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in mechanical engineering, he and that beautiful girl were married on June 30th, 1956 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He worked for Wisconsin Public Service for over 35 years primarily in the power plant group. Jim was at Pulliam power plant in various positions for 14 years and then transferred to the Power and Engineering staff where he led an engineering support group retiring as Superintendent-Production Engineering.
Jim enjoyed being of service to others. He was a member of the Y's Men Club followed by many years in the Howard-Suamico Lions Club. He was a Red Cross volunteer for over 20 years where for 12 years he very much enjoyed being a driver for the Transportation Service where he helped provide transportation for the elderly and disabled. He was also on the Board of Directors of the Ecumenical Partnership for Housing and a Bellin Health volunteer where for many years he sat at an information desk.
Jim was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where he served on many committees over the years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, his grandkids, and just puttering around.
Jim is survived by his wife Marilyn, daughter Deborah (Tom) Bruns and their children Kathleen (William) Duppler and Zach (Jessica) Bruns, son Russell (Barb) Reynard and their children Nicole (Ryan) Wockenfus, Jim (Shayna) Reynard, and Rachel (Kyle) Petit. He is further survived by 10 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Darius, Hugh, Remy, Eloise, Barrett, Evelynn, Stanley, and Archie. He is also survived by several cousins and many close friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sister Carol Hanaway, mother-in-law Doris Schafer, father-in-law Clifford Schafer, sister-in-law Laura Cannon, and brother-in-law Harry Cannon.
Jim often said how blessed he was to have such a beautiful family. A family of caring, gentle Christians who have strong marriages, are well educated, hardworking folks who have a great sense of family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4th, 2022 from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 341 Wilson Avenue, Green Bay. Officiating will be the Rev. Diane Rew with entombment to take place at Nicolet Memorial Park at a later date.
