James A. “Jimmy” Robinson, 73, of Plainfield, passed away at home on December 30, 2024. He was born in Greencastle on December 8, 1951, to the late John and Mollie (Scaggs) Robinson. Jimmy graduated from Cascade High School in the class of 1970. He married Deborah Malott on August 3, 1985, and together they raised their three sons.
Jimmy was a truck driver for 51 years and currently employed with RK Transport in Owensville. He was also a member of the Eagles Lodge 3207.
Jimmy enjoyed watching Westerns, playing cards, and taking trips to Vegas. He loved driving his semi-truck, but always looked forward to coming home on the weekends to spend time with his family and his dogs. Jimmy was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a hard-working man. He will be sorely missed by all of his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his brothers, Larry, Jerry, and Roger Robinson; sister-in-law, Donna Robinson; nephews, Wade and John Robinson; and his dogs, River and Boston.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Deborah Robinson of Plainfield; sons, Matt Robinson (Kim) of Plainfield, Jeremy Robinson (Nicole) of Evansville, and Josh Spencer (Randa) of Plainfield; brothers, David Robinson (Vickie) of Louisiana and Ronnie Robinson (Tracey) of Amo; sisters, Jan Wood (Steve) of Plainfield and Patsy Hurrle (Jim) of Greenwood; two grandchildren, Wren “Princess” and Jake “Hammerhead”; sister-in-law, Suzy Robinson of Texas; his dog, Ollie; and several extended family members.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. A memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow in Stilesville Cemetery.
