James Patrick Seemann, 68 years old, of Pampa, Texas, is no longer restricted by his earthly body as he's now walking in the presence of his Lord and Savior. He left this life on Monday morning, December 9, 2024, while hospitalized in Pampa. James was born on June 5, 1956, to Theodore and Verla Seemann in Perryton, Texas where he resided until about 20 years ago when he moved to Pampa.
After graduating from Perryton High School, James felt called by God to be a children's minister and therefore, he attended Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma. Although he didn't graduate with his degree, he continued to feel led to serve and that's what he did. James taught Sunday School, drove the church bus making sure those without the means to get to church, were able to go, and he ministered as well. He loved Jesus and even considered himself a Jesus Freak! He was never ashamed nor was he shy and quiet about it, he spoke of Jesus often and always with such sincere love and adoration.
In his earlier years, James tried following his families' footsteps working in the oilfield industry and quickly found out that it was not suited for him. He did some roofing, but then found his niche in landscaping and tree trimming and even enjoyed substitute teaching for a while before he could no longer work due to his health. Once he was more or less homebound, his ingenuity kicked in and with a little help from Kayla, he had a computer and gaming setup with dual large TV screens that enabled him to play his games, work puzzles, color, and read all while watching his programs on TV. He liked watching football, but if the "Cowbabies" (as he so lovingly referred to them) were playing, he would root for whomever was playing against them!
James was stubborn and ornery as the day is long and he was certainly set in his ways – but there was none more loving and caring as he was. If at all possible, he would do anything to help someone in need. He tried very hard to not only talk of Jesus but to show Jesus through his life and actions. James and his big ol' jug of Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper always close at hand will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was anxiously awaited at Heavens gates by his beloved parents, Theodore and Verla; a brother, Teddy Seemann; two sisters, Kenda Maddox, Kaye Seemann; a nephew, Coy Maddox and a great-nephew, Issac Martin.
Those who remain to cherish their memories with James are his best friend and caretaker for the past ten years, Kayla Sanchez and her husband Oscar of Pampa; his pastor and dear friend Jimmye Cole of Pampa; a niece, Kristi Balay and husband Kelly of Dallas; nephew, Toby Maddox and wife Christy of Perryton; great nieces and nephews, Kandice Maddox of Pampa, Kaley Casas and husband Robert of Pampa, Kavori Maddox of Pampa, Kody Maddox of Amarillo, Kaylynn Martin of Kansas City, MO, Zechariah Martin of St Louis, MO, Ashley Maddox of Perryton, Christopher Maddox of Perryton, Kim Anderson of Amarillo, and Debbie Gray of Amarillo as well as numerous great-great nieces and nephews and extended family members.
James' church family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Memorial service to honor him on Friday, December 20th, 2024, at First Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Jimmye Cole officiating and Reverend Mike James assisting. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of James Patrick Seemann, please visit our Tree Store.
