James Steaples Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 18, 2024.
James Henry Steaples, affectionately known as Henry to his friends and family, left this world on Monday, June 17, 2024, at the age of 51. Born on August 22, 1972, in Austin, Texas, he was a man who lived a life to its fullest. Henry passed away peacefully in Bertram, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family and best friend Clarence Cantrell.
Henry's early years in Austin were filled with joy and laughter, setting the stage for the man he would become. He was a joy in the lives of his parents, Jimmy and Mary Steaples, and a source of endless entertainment for his siblings, Kim Peters, Jimmy Steaples, Jason Steaples and Kara Dickinson. As he grew, so did his family circle, which came to include his beloved children, Ethan and Josie Steaples, who were his pride and joy.
Henry's professional life was marked by the same dedication and passion he gave to his family. He was the proud owner of a successful construction company, a testament to his hard work and entrepreneurial spirit. His colleagues and associates in the industry respected him for his integrity and the quality of his work. Henry's leadership in the field was not just about building structures but also about forging lasting relationships and contributing to the community he held dear.
Away from work, Henry lit up any room he entered and was the life of the party. He loved being surrounded by family, friends, and good music. His presence at family gatherings was a guarantee of good times, his laughter infectious and his spirit irrepressible.
Henry's heart was as expansive as his smile, and he never hesitated to extend a helping hand. Friends and strangers alike benefited from his generosity, knowing that if Henry was around, they had an ally. His ability to lift spirits was unmatched, and his readiness to support others in their time of need was a virtue that defined his character.
To say Henry was funny would be an understatement; he was the embodiment of joy and wit. His humor was a gift he freely gave, bringing lightness to even the most challenging moments. Henry was spirited, his energy boundless and his zest for life evident in everything he did. His generosity knew no bounds, and he gave not just material things but pieces of his heart to everyone he met.
Henry's legacy is carried on by his children, Ethan and Josie; his father, Jimmy Clyde Steaples; Deirdre Dawn Miller; his siblings, Kim Peters, Jimmy Steaples, Jason Steaples, Kara Dickinson; and his extended family, including his nephews, E.J. Peters, Collin and Coltin Dickinson, Dakota Steaples, his nieces, Grace Peters, McKensie Steaples and McKenna Dickinson as well as his brother in-laws, Tim Peters and Jeremiah Dickinson.
Preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Steaples and grandpa, James C. Steaples. Each of them holds cherished memories of a man whose life was a testament to love, laughter, and the enduring strength of family.
As we bid farewell to Henry, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man who embraced every moment with fervor and grace. His story does not end with his passing but continues in the lives of those he touched. James Henry Steaples may have left this earthly realm, but his spirit remains an indelible part of the tapestry of our lives. We will remember him with smiles on our faces and warmth in our hearts, knowing that his legacy is one of joy, friendship, unwavering love. Henry has moved on to his next season.
