James Ray Stubbs entered eternal glory and peace on November 13, 2024,
surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 1, 1960, in Marlin, Texas,
James spent most of his life in Pasadena, Texas. He graduated from
Pasadena High School, where he met Pandora (Brown), the love of his life.
Shortly after high school, James entered the workforce, spending years at
various companies, but ultimately landing at Goodyear Tire & Rubber and
embodying the essence of a true working man. His career spanned nearly
every tradesman skillset, making him a true "Jack of all trades." James and
Pandora are members of Second Baptist Church of Pasadena.
James was an avid reader, enjoying everything from biographical history to
science fiction. A skilled handyman, he could fix or build anything, always
insisting on doing it "the right way." He was also a passionate sports fan,
especially of baseball and football. James often joked that if he were the
manager, coach, or GM, the Astros would have won more World Series titles,
and the Cowboys would have more Super Bowl rings. Above all, James
cherished his family. Beneath his tough exterior was a soft and loving
husband, father, and pawpaw.
James is preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, James William
McLaran; his father, Earl Stubbs; and his brother, David Earl Stubbs. He is
survived by his wife of nearly 46 years, Pandora Stubbs; his children and
precious grandchildren; son, Will Stubbs of Deer Park, TX and his children
with Annette Stubbs, Noah, Hannah and Ava; daughter Amy Esguerra and her
husband Alan of San Antonio, TX with their children Luca and Baby
Esguerra (or grandchild #5) (on the way), and son Blake Stubbs of Deer Park,
TX. He is also survived by his mother, Ann Necessary; his sister, Evelyn
Jackson and her husband Michael; his brother, Carl Stubbs and his wife
Linda; his sister, Tina Stubblikin and her wife Becky; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
Services will be held at Deer Park Funeral Directors, 336 E San Augustine St,
Deer Park, TX 77536, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with
visitation immediately prior, starting at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations
