James G. Sutherland

James G. Sutherland, 93, of Speers, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 in his home. A son of the late James L. and Margaret (Gaskill) Sutherland, he was born in Speers on April 6, 1931.
A lifelong resident of Speers and a US Marine Veteran, James was an avid golfer, a former member of the Speers United Methodist Church and an honorary member of Mon Valley Country Club. He had a lifelong career as a Manager and Treasurer of the Monessen Credit Union and then the Mon Valley Federal Credit Union in Allenport.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Connie (Martin) Sutherland, a sister, Marion Tallarico of Speers, a brother in-law, Ronald (Grace) Martin of Fayette City, nephews, Mark and Curt Martin, also of Fayette City, a niece, Barbara (Steve) Beitzell of Maryland, and several cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son at birth and a brother in-law, Francis Tallarico.
Friends will be received on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300. www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.
