James "Jim" Roycroft Tatum passed away on Oct. 19, 2024 due to natural causes surrounded by family. He was born in Kingman, AZ on February 12, 1940, the youngest of two children to Earl and Winona Tatum. He served in the United States National Guard and Army and received an honorable discharge on July 31, 1969. Jim started his career as a police officer in Arizona having multiple assignments ranging from training new recruits, undercover assignments and protection detail to many Arizona congress officials. To further his education, he received a Degree of Science from Phoenix College. In his later career he provided security services to The Boeing Company in Seattle, WA.
Jim married the love of his life, Carole Bosshardt Tatum on May 26, 1981 and were happily married until her passing on August 11, 2012. Carole was his soulmate and they had many wonderful adventures together. Many of those adventures were filled with love, laughter and family. Jim loved to play golf and win quarters playing "Ship, Captain and Crew". He was a great on the BBQ and made the best beef stew ever.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Earl and Winona Tatum, sister Earleen Loveday. He is survived by daughter, Allison Tatum (Richard); granddaughter, Ashley Tatum (Keilan), great granddaughter Layla; sisters/brothers in law, Beverly and Del, Gayle and Dale; and many nieces/nephews and extended family. Family services will be held at a later date.
