James A. Al Toon, Sr., 92, passed away on August 22nd, 2022. A native of Louisville, he was born on May 9th, 1930 to Stephen and Teresa Toon.
Al was a graduate of St. Xavier High School, a veteran of the United States Navy, and retired from LG & E. He was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ann Kurzendoerfer; and his brothers, Ed and Charles Toon.
Al was married to his beloved wife of 69 years, Anna Stuedle Toon. He is survived by his wife, Anna; his children, James A. Toon, Jr., Debbie Chmielewski (Ray) and Susan Walling (John); his grandchildren, Andrea Bacon (Davey, M.D.), Brittney Todd (Justin) and Sam Walling, M.D.; and his great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Isla Todd, and Penny Bacon.
His visitation will be 3:00 8:00 pm on Monday, August 29th, 2022, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. His funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 30th, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Mass of the Air.

Mendy (Weitlauf) Shelton Father was Tooney Weitlauf nephew of Romuel Toon

I am doing an ancestors on my Father´s Mother´s side. My brother and I just found out that our Grandmother Ruth (Toon) Weitlauf had a brother that moved here in 1940 named Romuel. I live here ok in Louisville and would love to find my relatives.
