James Michael Treacy, 86 of Stoneham, MA passed away on February 6 th , 2023. Jim was born in Stoneham, MA and is the son of the late Margaret A. (Barrett) and William J. Treacy and the husband of the late June (Farrell) Treacy. Jim was raised in Stoneham graduated from Stoneham High School.
Jim was a Marine veteran of the Korean War who joined the Bricklayer’s Union after his service. He started his own Tile business which he ran successfully until he retired. He was a hard worker and astute business man. He loved building and remodeling and as a result, built and remodeled multiple properties in Massachusetts and Florida.
Jim was an avid sports enthusiast. He was a youth baseball and hockey coach in Stoneham for many years. He loved to golf, and in retirement, played any chance he could with friends and family. He was a member of Andover Country Club, Captain’s Golf Course in Brewster, MA and Ocean Breeze Golf Course in Boca Raton, FL. He loved watching and bragging about the Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox and Patriots (when they were competitive) to anyone who would care to listen. Jim will be remembered by his friends, family and business associates as a man of his word and someone you could count on.
He made many friends in his life’s journey and will be missed by those who knew him best. He had a great sense of humor and helped to keep others focused during stressful times. May he rest in peace and enjoy the company of his family and friends who passed before him.
Jim is survived by two of his sons and their families, Jim and Cheryl Treacy of North Andover, MA and Bob and Debbie Treacy of Bridgewater, MA. Along with his grandchildren, Macayla Treacy and Nicole Mann and Dylan and Connor Treacy. He is also survived by his beloved sisters Winifred McDonough and Maryanna McCarthy. He also leaves behind many great memories made with his nieces and nephews, especially his summers in Ogunquit. Jim was predeceased by his wife June (Farrell) Treacy, son Keith Treacy, and granddaughter Heather Mann. Also he was predeceased by his brothers William Treacy Jr., John Treacy, Thomas Treacy and sister Margaret Sacco.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with his family on Thursday February 23rd, 2023 in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM from 4 pm to 7 pm. Parking attendants and elevator available.
In Lieu of flowers contributions could be made in Jim’s name to; Wounded Warrior Project
