James S. "Jim" Wolf, a father, grandpa, and uncle, 66, of Akron, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at his residence.
He was born in Brownstown to the late Helen (Helenthal) Wolf and was the husband of Joyce (Bryan) Wolf.
Jim was a good friend to many and an excellent conversationalist, as he always knew how to strike up a good conversation. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He was exceptionally loyal to all Pennsylvania teams, even for the sports he didn't care for. Jim was proud of who he was and where he was from, despite his many hardships throughout his life. He was proud of his children, grandchildren, and was lucky to have great-grandchildren as well. Jim loved to laugh and loved to make people laugh, even when he was struggling and in the hospital.
He graduated from Conestoga Valley High School and went on to be a welder and fabricator off and on for many years; he really was a jack of all trades. No matter where you were with him, he always had a story to tell, and sometimes he was truly up to no good. Before Jim got sick, he enjoyed camping at Frontier Town with his family, golfing with his eldest son and going to the beach. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and working on sprint cars with his friends. His last name (Wolf) was true to who he was, as many called him Wolfie. Jim got to experience his daughter Cheyenne getting married at his bedside in some of his final moments and they will forever be grateful for that. He will be truly missed by his family and all of the lives that he touched along the way.
In addition to his wife, James is survived by five children, Jamaha Wolf, Michael Wolf, Chad Wolf, Cheyenne Wolf, Rhiannon Wolf; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, John Wolf, and a sister, Jill, wife of Roger Royer.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in James's memory may be made to Penn State Cancer Institute, Office of University Development, 100 Crystal A Drive, MC CA530, PO Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033-0852.
