Dr. James Gordon Wright, age 72 of Naperville, Il passed away August 17, 2024.
His is survived by his wife, Ruby Wright and children Edwin Cano (Kristin Cano), James Gordon Wright III (Lia Wright), Amanda Wright (Daniel Schieren) and Emily Wright (Connor Gorrell). His grandchildren Alex Crawford, Christian Cano, James Wright IV and Allison Wright. And his sisters Jan Smith and Joann Wright. As well as his large extended family who loved him very much. He is preceded in death by his younger brother, Johnathan Sterling Wright, parents James G. Wright and Alice Adkins, his daughter Abigail Wright and his father-in-law, Wilfrido Cano.
James was undeniably a brilliant and caring surgeon and physician, and CEO and founder of Midwest Vein Center. But more importantly, he was a devoted husband, father, son-in-law, grandpa, uncle, and brother-in-law. Known to the family as "Uncle J" and "Papa," he never hesitated to help out friends and family with the most generosity and support. While his brilliant mind and hard work resulted in many authored pieces in medical journals, high honors and awards, elected positions in offices and on boards, his legacy goes far beyond his awards and contributions to the medical field and his patients. James was a passionate musician and a lifelong fan of music and the arts, travel, food, animals and nature. Being the most caring and compassionate doctor to his patients was only overshadowed by his immense devotion, love and support to his beloved family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 11-3 at the Morton Arboretum,4100 IL-53, Lisle, IL 60532. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011, https://www.alz.org/get-involved-now/donate.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Wright family. It was my privilege to work with Dr. Wright for 18 years at Midwest Vein Center. Dr. Wright was committed to excellence, always striving to improve the patient experience, and held his staff to the highest standard of professionalism. I appreciate his mentorship, kindness, and the growth opportunities he offered to me as a nurse during our time together at MVC. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Jeanine Costello
