Jan C. Allen, beloved wife, devoted family member, and cherished friend, passed away on July 31, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, service and unwavering faith.
Jan was born on August 13, 1947, in Pampa, Texas, to Harry Francis Cook and Hildred Ione Cook. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1965 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in English from West Texas State University in 1970.
In February of 1975, Jan met the love of her life, Guen Allen. The two were married just one month later in March, beginning a beautiful journey together filled with love, shared adventures, and deep companionship. A mutual love for travel and classic cars brought them joy for decades, they especially enjoyed showing off their 1964 Plymouth convertible at car shows. Their travels took them from the bright lights of New York City to the peaceful coast of Bar Harbor, Maine, and through the scenic beauty of the Pacific Northwest, where they visited Guen's family.
Together, Jan and Guen owned and operated Allen Hose and Supply company for over 25 years, building not only a successful business, but strong ties within their community. Jan also served in roles that reflected her compassionate spirit, working with the Top O Texas Crisis Pregnancy Center, the 31st in 223rd District Attroney's Office, and later, Crossroads Youth and Family Services.
Jan was deeply rooted in her faith. In Pampa, she was an active member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. After moving to Oklahoma, she found a church home at Eagle Heights Christian Church, where she continued to serve and connect with others.
A passionate supporter of her favorite teams, Jan could often be found enjoying the buzz of Campus Corner on OU football game days. She was a proud fan of the OU Sooners – football and softball alike- and the OKC Thunder.
Above all, Jan loved her family dearly and found constant joy in their company. She had a special place in her heart for her beloved Chihuahua, Belle, who was always by her side.
Jan's kindness, strength, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
