Sunniyi "Pooh" Kari Jessie Powers was born November 6, 1980, in Vero Beach, Florida, to Glenda Sue McClintion and Kelvin Powers. He went to school at Vero Beach High School. He worked as general laborer with the Packing House. He has also worked in Lawn Service. He enjoyed watching football and cooking soul food. Sunniyi was a devoted father, loving son, cherished brother, and loyal friend. He lived his life fully, bringing warmth, generosity, and joy to everyone around him. Sunniyi loved his family deeply and shared laughter, guidance, and support with all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kelvin Powers, and his grandmother, Juanita Crawford.

Sunniyi leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children: Dominque Powers, Essiyah Powers, Sanai Powers, Sunniyi Powers Jr., Nasya Powers, Chynna Powers, Cash Powers and Glenda McClinton; and his grandchildren: Ulysses Oliver, Amir Powers, and Nay'lanii Powers. He is also survived by his loving mother, Glenda Sue McClintion; his siblings Joe (Alexius) Mathis, Sean Mathis, Tony (Nicole) Davis, Christopher Edwards, Shoney Mathis, Mimi Thomas, and Vera Ruffin; his uncles James (Elaine) Powers, William Van Powers, and Larry (Sheila) Powers; his aunts Debra (Ika) Rolle and special aunt Margaret Ann (Cyril) Jones; and his great-uncles Gerald (Bessie) Crawford and Tommy (Dorothy) Millines. He will be remembered by special friends Latosha Hargrove, Cierra Jennings, and Corie Ferrell, along with a wide circle of family and friends.

To my children, treasure the memories we share and pursue your dreams with courage. To my mother, may comfort and peace surround you always. To my family and friends, thank you for the love and laughter you gave. My love will continue to live on in the countless memories I leave behind.
