Jana emigrated to the United States in 1969 and has lived in Lakewood for the past 47 years. She was well known for her strong will, love of animals (cats were a favorite) and enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
In 1963, Jana met future husband Václav Jakoubek (James V. Jakoubek Sr.) at a dance in Náchod, CZ. Jana had three sons, Josef Vrána ml., Václav Jakoubek ml. (James V. Jakoubek Jr.) and Zdenek Jakoubek.
Jana is survived by husband of 61 years James V. Jakoubek Sr.; sons Zdenek Jakoubek (wife, Jeanne Mekolichick), Josef Vrána and James V. Jakoubek Jr.; grandchildren Sidney Mekolichick Jakoubek, Erika Rosenhoff, Jana Kajling Ritschelová, Katerina Vránová and several great-grandchildren.
Jana was predeceased by: Mother and Father, Amálie Machanová and Karel Machán; brother Karel Machán ml.; sisters Zdenka Hanušová, Vera Couralová, Milka Dohnanská and Blanka Valachová; first husband Josef Vrána (father to son Josef Vrána ml.).
All services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local animal shelter.
