Jane Evelyn Hopper, a devoted mother, cherished friend, and lifelong Detroit Tigers fan, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025, in Livonia, Michigan, at the age of 84.
Born on July 4, 1940, in Detroit, Jane embodied the independence and spirit of her birthday. She built a fulfilling career as a secretary for the City of Livonia Civil Service Commission, where she dedicated her talents and kindness to serving her community. She was also a Farmington Elks Lodge and Eastern Star-Farmington Chapter member.
Jane found her greatest joy in family, faith, and friendship. She is survived by her beloved son, John E. Hopper, and his wife, Dee, as well as her two step-grandsons, Evan and Corey Geier, whom she welcomed into her heart with love. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Aaron R. Hopper.
She cherished time spent with those she loved, whether traveling to new places, gathering with her First United Methodist Church community, bowling at Merri-Bowl Lanes, or cheering on her Detroit Tigers-especially alongside John, with whom she shared a special bond over their favorite team.
Visitation will take place Thursday, March 20, from 5 - 8 pm, and Friday, March 21, from 11 am - 3 pm, at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home.
Jane's funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 22, 11:00 am (in state 10:30 am) at the First United Methodist Church, 33112 Grand River Ave., Farmington.
Donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Farmington, MI to further honor Jane's life. www.farmingtonfumc.org
