Mrs. Jane Ellen M. Durden, 87, of Metter, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024, at
Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro following an extended illness. She was born October 11, 1937, in Metter to the late Leonard Ray McNair and Mary Euchlease Donaldson McNair.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Euell Durden; brother, Elbert Buddy McNair; sisters, Ann McGowan and Janet Lewis.
She is survived by her sons, Jeff Durden (Ann) and Lee Durden (Rhonda) both of Metter; daughter, Lisa Durden Smith (Marty) of Oak Park; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be 4:00 P.M. Sunday, November 3, 2024, in the chapel at Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Atteberry officiating.
Interment will follow in Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Pallbearers are Troy Oglesby, Loren Loggins, Rubin Blackburn, Donny Wells, Andy Strange, Jimmy Monroe, Jeff McCranie and Lee Smith.
The Honorary Pallbearers are Gary Evans, Jamie Evans, Matt Gardneir, Sabastion Benton, Wade Merritt, James Butler, and Jeremy Dyches.
The family will gather at Pointer Plantation at 3231 Camm Road, Metter, Ga 30439.
