Jane Ann Queen, 83 of Keyser, WV, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025 at her home while under the care of WVU Medicine Hospice.
Born on April 10, 1942 in Connellsville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Chester Henry and Carolyn Faye (Schroyer) Rhodes. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Queen, Sr. and a brother, John A. Rhodes.
Jane was the main stockholder in B & B Air Conditioning and Heating Service Company, Inc.. She loved her B & B family, for they were more than employees; they were family to her. After moving from Frederick, MD in 1997, she pursued her passion of quilting. She taught quilting classes in her home on Sunday and Wednesday evenings.
Jane was a person of extreme generosity and integrity and if she saw a need, she tried to take care of it. Anyone who knew Jane, knew she was an animal lover all of her life. She saved countless animals, never passing an animal in need. There are not enough words to say how loved she was by all. Mrs. Queen was also a long standing member of the Headsville Community Church.
Surviving are her brothers, Chester Rhodes, Michael Rhodes and Robin Rhodes, all of Keyser; her sister and best friend, Merle Burns of Keyser; four step children, Robert Queen, Jr. and wife Kathy of Eagle Bay, NY, Katie Queen of Harpers Ferry, WV, Jennifer Queen and husband Tom Weller of Westminster, MD and C. Corley Queen of Charles Town, WV. Also surviving is her niece, Stacy Hall and grandniece, Aurice Jessie, both of Cumberland, MD and friends and caretakers, Mae Eversole and Eunice Aldridge. She could not have been more fortunate to have them. They are absolutely amazing. The hospice team who cared for her were the absolute best, We cannot thank them enough for their excellent care and understanding. Last, but certainly not least, is her canine companion and protector "Jacob." He maintained a constant vigil alongside her through all her illness.
A funeral service will be held at the Headsville Community Church on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Joshua Miller officiating The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Burns-Queen Cemetery at Spring Valley Farm, Keyser, WV.
The Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
Jane would be honored that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Mineral County Humane Society, c/o Joy Fertig, 831 Cutoff Road, Keyser, W 26726.
