Janet Benson Obituary
WATERVLIET –
Janet C. Benson born December 20, 1945, was surrounded by her loving family when God called upon her to enter in eternal peace on July 23, 2023.
Janet loved taking "road trips" she would jump in her car and just run the roads stopping by all the familiar locations of family and friends with her tagalong partner in the front seat her chihuahua "Alejandro". She has always had a soft spot for animals and recently birds, her favorite being the Loon.
Everyone that knew Janet pretty much had the same opinion about her, she was a strong-willed woman with a great heart. She was employed by the City of Albany as a Matron for a while and then went on to work for Albany Housing Authority as a dispatcher where she retired from.
She is predeceased by her father Clayton Benson, mother Florence Benson (Vandemore) and her daughter, Faith Deming.
Survived by two of her daughters Laura Deming (Vic), Patti Beeker (Chris) one son Robert Deming (Danielle) extended daughter Heidi Repscher (Ian), granddaughters: Angela Penson (Alfred), Rachel Roland, Alicia Seymour, Deanna Liebe, extended grandchildren: Jason, Mark, and Sarah. And great grandchildren: Malachi, Adarius, Kenadee, Kendall, Jayden, Talyah, Tristan and Egypt. She was the lifelong friend of Mitzi Dominic and Marge Welch (predeceased).
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 10 o'clock in St Paul's Episcopal Church, 21 Hackett Blvd., Albany, NY 12208. All family and friends are welcome to attend.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
She was a woman who told the absolute truth, even if you didn't want to hear it. She was well loved by both me and my Mom, Marge Welch. Asking so many others. I'll always miss you, Janet. When life got hard for me and I needed advice, I would always ask Janet. Her no nonsense approach of telling me how it really was, was actually what I really needed to hear. I Love you Janet, and may the light perpetual shine on You and may you rest in peace eternally. AMEN

Although I didn´t know Janet long, I really loved her. We had the best conversations and I really loved her sense of humor. She spoke of her family all the time with love. I am going to miss her and will pray for her and you all.

Hating to see no entry here, I am compelled to write!
Janet was an incredibly loyal, loving, understanding, and supportive friend to my brother, Paul Nudelman. When he died in 2011, she provided me the same level of warmth and friendship she had given to him. As I processed his estate, she was with me every minute of my time in Albany, every second I was cleaning out his house and settling his affairs. Her assistance made a challenging task - and I find it hard to believe - fun! She was smart, witty, full of incredible stories, and the best person I could possibly have had by my side during difficult days. Did I mention how fond I was of her?
I grieve Janet and am so sad that I will never talk to her again, never spend time with her.
