Janet Ruth Carpenter Kluesener, 90, of Avon, passed away June 1, 2023. She was born January 11, 1933 to the late Mabern and Ruth (Lentz) Carpenter in Maywood, IN. She lived wit her family in a farmhouse on Tibbs right across from Allison's. Janet began working at Allison's upon her graduation from Ben Davis in 1951. She married Charles Kluesener on November 23, 1956, and soon started a family. Motherhood was a full-time job for sure. Janet took each of her brood of five to all of their sports activities, events and supported them in everything they chose. She was fully involved especially in Avon Band Boosters for nearly two decades and attended every competition on her Saturdays this entire time. She was a Meals-On-Wheels driver and giver for over 25 years. Her complete devotion to God and family were her greatest gifts attending Lafayette Heights and Belleville Churches of Christ and leading Sunday School classes for over 60 years. Janet loved sports, especially baseball, football, basketball and racing. She always said if girls sports were around in her time, she would have participated in them all. The Cincinnati Reds were her favorite team, Johnny Bench her favorite player. She was an avid bowler, playing on a Wednesday morning league for several years while bowling many high-scoring games. Janet is survived by four sons, Keith A. (Barbara), Kevin W., Kent D., and Kurt E. Kluesener; a daughter, Kathy J. (Dan) Eoff; two brothers, Charles (Gerry) and Richard Carpenter; three sisters, Linda (Stanley) Amado, Nina Hughett, and Carol (Letchard) Maners; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Kluesener. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 7 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
