Janet Sue Overton – age 62 of Knoxville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, May 23, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family who she loved with all her heart (even when she was on the warpath!). Janet loved the Lord and trusted Him to the end.
She was welcomed into her heavenly home by her father, Curtis "Poppy" Peace, Jr.; mother and stepfather, Anna and Junior Irwin; and her daughter, Amy Overton Morse. Janet is survived by her husband of 36 years, David Overton; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Cheyenne Hill; daughter, Emily Overton; granddaughter, Sara Dew; grandson, Tyler Fannin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Karen Peace and Larry and Tammy Peace; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janie Ingram, Charlotte and Rick Howard and Lisa and Lynn Little; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2025 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The service to follow with Reverend Rick Howard officiating with music by Janet's family. Family and friends will meet at Trinity at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2025 to proceed to New Loyston Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service. Serving as pallbearers, C. J. Peace, Devin Overton, Roger Overton, Jacob Ingram, Jason Muncey and Cormac Anderson; honorary pallbearer, grandson Tyler Fannin.
