Janet Lorraine Piette Rogers, age 83, of Redgranite, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023 at ThedaCare Medical Center-Waupaca.

She was born April 24, 1939, in Appleton, WI, the daughter of Henry and Lorraine (Olson) Piette. On September 12, 1959, she was united in marriage to Duane E. Lind. They were blessed with two children, Richard "Dick" and Cheryl Lind.

After Duane's passing, Janet married Duane R. Rogers on March 27, 1967. On their first date, Duane told Janet, "Mrs. Lind, I'm going to marry you." Being a practical person, Janet just smiled and laughed. Before too long, Duane made good on his promise and proceeded to love Janet, Dick and Cheryl more than anything else.

When Janet wasn't waltzing across Texas with Duane, they were traveling and exploring other states. She enjoyed spending time playing cards with her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Bev Lind, and cooking for ladies' luncheons. Janet was known well for her ability to cook and bake. She knew everyone's favorite cookie, tomato sauce, bread--you name it--and was sure to have ample amounts on hand when visiting her family. Besides cooking, Janet was extraordinarily crafty. From her children to great-grandchildren, she made sure everyone had a hand-crafted Christmas stocking (she liked to tease, even long after she's gone, she'd still be hanging around).

Most of all, Janet's favorite pastime was loving and being proud of her family. Janet had an incredible heart with an inordinate amount of love to give. Luckily for her, Dick (Beth) Lind and Cheryl (Craig) Heller, blessed her with five grandchildren who in turn gave her eight great-grandchildren to love and spoil. Those who met Janet, know she was generous, kind, and thoughtful. They also know she believed there was no one more perfect than the people she loved. Often, Janet would look around the room at those she loved and report, "not a clinker in the bunch."

Janet will be loved and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her husband, Duane Rogers; daughter, Cheryl (Craig) Heller; five grandchildren, Jessica (Bob) Muller, Amie (Nick) Johansen, Amanda (Matt) Streicher, Matthew (Amy) Lind and Clara (Zach) Lind; eight great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Beth (Buetler) Lind; brother, James (Karen) Piette; and brothers-in-law, Dale Lind and Jerry Lind. Janet was preceded in death by her first husband, Duane E. Lind; son, Richard Lind; parents; and oldest brother, Eugene Piette.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at Barbola-Hempel Funeral Chapel in Poy Sippi. Inurnment will be in Brushville Cemetery. Anyone wishing to send a sympathy card to the family, please mail to Janet Rogers, c/o Barbola-Hempel Funeral Chapel, PO Box 201, Poy Sippi, WI 54967.
