Janetta Wood Obituary
Funeral Service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Decatur with burial following at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur.
Pastor Jack McAsey will officiate.
Janetta was born January 5, 1961 to James Franklin and Shirley Dale (Stanley) Wood in Fort Worth, Texas. After completing high school she continued her education for two more years. Janetta began her working career as a Court Reporter. She attended and was a member of Victory Church in Decatur.
Janetta was preceded in death by her parents, James and Shirley Wood; her brother, James Joshua Wood; and life long friend and companion, Blake Boyd.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Alex James of Decatur, Hannah Rhine and husband Zach of Decatur, and Franklin Wood and Katelynn; 4 grandchildren, Ashlynn, Seth, Skylar, and Lucy; her brother, Raymond Wood and wife Pam of Decatur; fiancé, Ronnie Erwin; nieces, cousins, and extended family and friends.

When my son was in the hospital, getting diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, Janetta was there every single day. She made a terrible situation bearable. She and Shirley took me to church and everyone laid hands for healing. I´ll never forget her. Or her amazing parents. You will be so missed Janetta
