Janice Alford age 76 passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 13th, 2025 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Lenoir City, TN. She managed a team with the Department of Human Services in the Division of Family and Child Services focused on Child Support Enforcement. She also retired after 25 years from the Internal Revenue Service.
Janice loved shopping, the arts, and traveling with her friends. Known by her huge smile and what made her heart the happiest, her family. Always a Georgia girl at heart, she moved to Tennessee in 2013 to be close to her family.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Huie and Dorothy (Babb) Alford and baby twin sister, Jean Alford.
She is survived by her brother Russell and sister-in-law Linda Alford; nieces; Gina Dotson (Chris), Abby Wilber (Ron), Julie Tate (Tony), and Natalie Davis of Dalton, GA; great nephews Drew Dotson and Cade Tate; several cousins that she loved tremendously.
The family would like to thank everyone at Morning Pointe Assisted Living, Care Around the Block, and Caris Healthcare for their love and care. A service to honor and remember Janice will be held in Milledgeville, GA and announced at a later date.
