Janice L. Brass, age 70, of Sheboygan passed away following a brief illness on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, surrounded by her family.
She was born in rural Cleveland on July 19, 1952, to the late Harvey and Norma (Oehldrich) Henschel. She graduated from Kiel High School. On October 27, 1972, Janice was united in marriage to William Brass at St. James UCC in Spring Valley. Janice served on the committee for The Sheboygan County Dairy Promotion. She was also a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir for many years with her mother-in-law.
Janice loved going to cattle shows to watch her children and grandchildren exhibit their animals. Going to the Sheboygan County Fair was also a favorite of hers. Above all, she took pride in raising her children and making memories with her grandchildren, especially playing sheepshead. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Janice is survived by her husband of 50 years, William; children, Mark (CJ) Brass, Heidi (Robert) Ridge, Sara (Tim) Feldmann and Michael (Ashley) Brass; grandchildren, Savanna Ridge and Logan Brass; brother, Gerald Henschel; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Along with her parents, Janice was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald (Jackie) Henschel; a sister-in-law Kathy Henschel; a brother-in-law Tom Brass and her in-laws, Archie (Dorothy) Brass. She was also preceded in death by a very special nephew, Kevin Henschel.
A Memorial Service for Janice will take place at NOON on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Zimmer Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Rd. in Howards Grove with Pastor Adam Barkley officiating. Family will greet visitors on Wednesday, at the funeral home, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Janice will be laid to rest at Wildwood Cemetery.
