Mrs. Janice Rowe Johnson, age 86, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025. She was preceded in death by parents, Ralph Rowe and Irma Graham Rowe; brothers, Frank and Ralph; and sisters, Ardith, Marie, and Lola. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, James E. Johnson, children, Cindy and Bryan Murphy of Shepherdsville, KY, Dwayne and Holly Johnson of Burleson, TX, Sandra and Stan Nutt of Huntsville, AL, Connie and Stan Quinn of Buford, Kathy and Matt Marshall of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren and "one on the way"; brother-in-law, Olen Johnson of Kansas City, KS; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Johnson was born on November 20, 1938 in Flint, Michigan and was a 1956 graduate of Noroscope High School in Flint. She was a homemaker, and a member of Rabun County Church of Christ for twenty-two years. Janice was faithful to the Lord ever since she was baptized in 1959. Both she and her husband made it a priority to find a new place to worship with each move where she quickly became involved in the work of the Church. She worshipped at Rabun County church of Christ for over 20 years. and when she became homebound she continued to worship online. Janice enjoyed traveling with Jim. They traveled across the United States several times in their RV, having traveled to every state in the U S except for one. Most places ended with a stop at the gift shop where items were bought for others. She found much joy in giving to others. Janice also enjoyed knitting, quilting, ceramics, singing, and shopping. She could easily spend 2 hours in Walmart. But what Janice enjoyed most of all was spending time with her family. She loved cooking for them, playing cards, doing puzzles and crafting. She will be greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Rabun County Church of Christ in Tiger, GA with McKinley Pate officiating and Dwayne Johnson and Sean O'Brien speaking. She will Lie in State at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, September 20. Interment will follow in the Rabun County Church of Christ Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rabun County Church of Christ, 876 Bethel Rd, Tiger, GA 30576 in memory of Janice Johnson.
