Janice Morris Obituary
A lifelong member and servant of New Hope Baptist Church, Janice served as Sunday School teacher, refreshment committee member and WMU leader. A true Proverbs 31 woman, Mrs. Janice faithfully served her family, church and community, not expecting anything in return. Some of her favorite hobbies were making dolls for missions on Tuesday mornings with the ladies of the church and spoiling her grandkids and great-grands. Janice was a very talented cook where she used those talents to bless the children of New Salem Elementary by serving in the cafeteria for 30 years.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 10, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends and relatives following the service.
Janice is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Gerald Morris; daughters Debra Sue Morris (Alex) of Mooresville, Cindy Morris Barnes (Steve) of Indian Trail and Lisa Morris Baucom (Scott) of Marshville; grandchildren, Keith Barnes (Teri) of Wilmington, Lance Barnes of Indian Trail, Casey Gibson (Zane) of Winston-Salem, Davey Baucom of Monroe, Liam Elliott-Morris and Evan Elliott-Morris, both of Mooresville; great-granddaughters, Jeanie Gibson and Lydia Barnes; and brothers, Gary Smith (Betty) and Terry Smith (Nancy).
