Janie Elizabeth Smith Branch, age 67, of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord on May 23, 2025.
Born on September 6, 1957, to Frederick Boyce and Lettie Sue Smith in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from City High School, worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee and worked as a server around town for several years. Recently, she was employed at Amazon, Hampton Inn and Sir Goony's / Haunted Carnival. Janie was loved by all who met her. She enjoyed the casinos in Las Vegas, where she was able to go on a trip with her daughter and best friend, Greg Dempsey. She fought a long hard battle until the end. She will be missed and loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents: brother, Todd and her husband, John L. Branch Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Samara (Adam) Clayton; son, Kenny (Allison) Branch; grandchildren: Jonathan (Alyssa) Clayton, Lilly Clayton, Willow Clayton, Dalton Branch and Kara Sullivan; nephew:, Austin, Evan and Hudson; niece Lilla; brothers, Tom (Connie) Smith and Mark (Wendy) Smith.
Celebration of life will be on June 8 at Hampton inn in lookout valley from 2:00pm - 6:00pm. The family requests that attendees wear shades of purple.
