A celebration of life for Janie Kay Stone will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah.Janie Kay Stone was born September 15, 1949 in Minco, Oklahoma to John E. Howard and Leta L. (Gordon) Howard. She passed away Friday, February 28, 2025 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma at the age of 75.Janie was a longtime resident of the Okemah area and graduate of Okemah High School. She later received an associates degree from Seminole Junior College and bachelor's degree from East Central University. Janie worked at J.H. Lilly Correctional Facility and most recently with the Department of Human Services as a child specialist.She is preceded in death by her parents; three spouses, Martin McLemore, Roy Kenneda and Paul Stone; four brothers, John B. Howard, Don Howard, Bill Howard and Gene Darcey and four sisters, Louise Darcey Johnson, Doris Darcey, Dewey "Darlene" Darcey Wood and Mary "Marlene" Darcey Allen. Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Davis and husband Rick of Okemah and LeAnne Shadrick of Tulsa; one son, John McLemore and wife Isabelle of Colorado and 9 grandchildren.Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Bro.
