Janine Mary Hoffmann, age 70, of Chesterton, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025, in Valparaiso, Indiana. She was born on May 6, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, to George Allen and June (Baker) Davis.
Janine is survived by her sons, Matthew (Tina) Hoffmann, Schuyler DeArmond; daughter, Christa (Colin) Ragland; brother, David (Jennifer) Davis; sister, Dorothy Davis; grandchildren, Ellen, Declan, Clara and Stella Ragland; many nieces and nephews and fur children. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, June Davis, whom she cared for in her final years; father, George Allen; sister, Debbie Morse; and several Angel babies.
Janine loved crafting, knitting, sewing, writing poetry and watching old movies. She adored rescuing animals of all kinds. Janine loved connecting with her beloved sister Debbie on their shared Irish heritage. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who she would say were the light of her life. Janine was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed.
Funeral Ceremony will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304, with Pastor Denny Smith officiating. Burial to take place at Chesterton Cemetery. A visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janine's memory to the Porter County Animal Shelter at 3355 Bertholet Blvd., Valparaiso, IN 46383 or https://www.portercountyanimalshelter.org/178/Donate.
