Susan L. Beckham

Susan L. Beckham, age 69, of Chesterton, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at her home in Chesterton. She was born on April 15, 1956, in Gary, Indiana, to Duane Faulkner and Cathryne Rollins.
On April 1, 1991, Susan married the love of her life, John Beckham, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they shared a life full of laughter, love, and partnership.
Susan is survived by her three children, Anthony "Tony" Garland of Chesterton, Tyshana Beckham of Georgia, and Brandi (Sean) McMaster of Valparaiso; four grandchildren, Brett Garland, T.J. Ledford, Hannah Ledford, and Reagan McMaster; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lee Faulkner and Jeff (Teri) Faulkner; and her sister, Linda (Mike) Voyles. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Larry Faulkner.
A proud graduate of Portage High School, Class of 1974, Susan went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Purdue North Central. Her career was defined by compassion, professionalism, and a deep commitment to caring for others. After many years of service, she retired in 2020 to dedicate herself to caring for her husband, John, and tending to the home they built together.
Susan had a natural gift for creating beauty in everyday life. She loved gardening, keeping her home immaculate, and sharing joy through her cooking. Susan often captured photos of her delicious meals to share with family and friends. She also enjoyed socializing and cherished time spent with loved ones. Susan was an active member of the American Legion Post 502 Auxiliary, where she found camaraderie and purpose among her community.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the American Legion Post 170, 798 Wabash Avenue, Chesterton, Indiana.
