Jared Wayne Cantrell

Jared Wayne Cantrell, age 40, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away at 9:31 p.m. on Monday, August 8, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Jared was born November 30, 1984, in Aurora, Missouri, the son of Mitch Wayne and Alonda Sue (Logan) Cantrell.

Jared was a 2003 graduate of Aurora High School in Aurora, Missouri and received his associate's degree from Columbia College. He was a teacher and soccer coach. Jared loved sports and live music events and enjoyed going to see Sporting Kansas City play regularly. He was deeply compassionate, incredibly thoughtful, and beloved by all who met him.

On May 4, 2020, he married Sara Elizabeth Glassco, in Nixa, Missouri.

Jared is survived by his wife, Sara; his father, Mitch Cantrell, of Marionville, Missouri; stepdaughter, Chloe; brother, Kevin Cantrell, of Marionville, Missouri; sister, Jodi Cantrell of Webb City, Missouri; nephew, Arjay; his maternal grandmother, Darlene Logan, of Miller, Missouri and a host of other family and friends.

Jared was preceded in death by his mother, Alonda and maternal grandfather, Bryson Logan.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic, Missouri, with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, Missouri.
