A lifelong resident of the area with a love for the mountains and being outdoors, Jared was loved by many friends, family, and co-workers. Jared attended North Buncombe High School, Class of 2006. For the past 8 years, Jared has worked as the Security Manager at Omni Grove Park Inn. On October 15th, 2023, Jared married his person in life, Sarah Holtsclaw on a beautiful mountain top in Hendersonville, NC. He loved spending time with his wife, son, friends, family, and beloved pets. Jared was an avid reader of comic books and loved cooking for his wife and son. With a contagious smile, Jared was a very kind and loving person with a sharp sense of humor. He cared about so many people and will always be remembered for his willingness to help others in need.
Jared is survived by his wife, Sarah McCaskill, and son, Darrius McCaskill. Also surviving are his mother, Lynda McCaskill; father, Boyd McCaskill and Laura McCaskill; brother, Varien McCaskill and Shanity McCaskill, along with nephew, Atreides McCaskill; and maternal grandmother, Kay Huff.
Jared will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure and honor of knowing him.
The family will be having a celebration of life gathering on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Davidson River Recreational Park starting at 1:00 p.m. All friends and family are welcome to drop by to celebrate Jared's life and memories. Feel free to bring a dish of Jared's favorite foods or any other memento that you would like to share with the family.
