On Sunday April 27, 2025, the Lord called Jason Russell Gruver to heaven after a long battle with cancer. Jason was born on April 4, 1977, in San Antonio, Texas to Carol Wilke.
Jason loved to protect – he protected his church family by serving as security team lead for many years. He had a true servant's heart and could be found doing many different jobs around his place of worship. He also enjoyed supporting his children in their many activities, whether he was on the sidelines watching football or sitting through a dance competition, he never missed the chance to cheer them on.
Jason is preceded in death by his father Dennis Wilke; uncle Johnnie Sczepanik and cousin Vickie Sczepanik Nemec.
Survivors include his loving wife, Hannah Ruiz-Gruver; children, Alyssa Gruver, Madison Anderson (Rhett), Austin Gruver, Blake Gruver, Ayden Ruiz and Aria Gruver; grandchildren Brooklyn Medina and Isaac Gruver.
Jason is also survived by his siblings, his in-laws, Daniel and Yolanda Ruiz, brother in-law Daniel Ruiz (Emilia), nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 10 a.m. at New Life Fellowship Church with Pastor Chris Larson officiating. Address: 16489 S State Highway 123, Seguin, TX 78155.
Donations will be gratefully accepted by Hannah Ruiz-Gruver to assist with funeral costs and living expenses.
